About Us

Celebrating 42 years of our vibrant community.

Welcome to the Bendigo & District Fly Fishers Inc

Our club started in 1980 as “The Axedale Fly Fisherman’s Club. The club used the Axedale Fish Farm (a commercial rainbow trout farm) as their home waters to practice their craft.

Over the years the club has moved its club rooms across many sites in and around Bendigo and morphed into the Bendigo & District Fly Fishers Inc, with permanent club rooms at the Brennan Park Swimming Complex.

The club has a long history of improving habitat and working to improve and protect the environment in which we practice our sport of Fly Fishing

We are members of the Council of Victorian Fly Fishing Clubs (CVFFC). The CVFFC’s main objective is to provide an effective voice from fly fishers to VRfish & Government agencies on the maintenance and development of trout fisheries. We are also affiliated with the Midland North Central Angling Association and the OZ Fish Unlimited Campaspe & Loddon Chapter.

The club is open to all members of the public. Everyone is very welcome to visit our club rooms. We hold regular general meetings on the last Thursday of each month (except December) plus regular Fly Tying session and Fly Casting classes.  Check our calendar for dates and times.
